About Me

Hello!

My name is Michelle Taylor. I am excited to be your childs 3rd grade teacher here at Longview Elementary. This is my third year at this school and I love being here. 

​

A little about me: I am a second career teacher. I have been teaching since 2003. I have always loved learning and going to school plus I found myself doing training at many of my previous jobs, so I combined them and here we are! I attended Fairmont State University for my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education Multi-subject K-6. I attended Appalachian State University for receive my master's degree in Elementary Education. I taught kindergarten and 1st grade for the first 10 years and decided to move to the upper grades. I am very passionate about education and believe it can take you anywhere you want to go. Whether you want a college education or  a trade, lifelong learning is what I hope to instill in each one of my students. 

I am married and my husband and I have 3 beautiful daughters. Two of them are also teachers. The youngest decided to change things up and is in the business world. I love spending as much time with family as I can. I also love reading, going to the movies (for the popcorn of course) and doing crafts. 

I look forward to working with your child and like to use hands on activities and also projects where the children learn through discovery. I appreciate your trust in sending your child here and rest assure, I think of them as my own and want what is best for them.
